Our IES Path

The International Ecopsychology Society (IES) is a global network committed to the training and expansion of Applied Ecopsychology. IES offers a structured path for professionals, providing opportunities for learning, collaboration, and leadership within the global network.

With this “Path in IES,” we aim to detail the different routes for training, membership, and leadership within IES, offering information on the journey from the initial levels—such as IES Friend and IES Ally—through the certification of Ecotuners, the Charters (National Representatives), and School Directors, as well as the processes of specialization and leadership within the Board.

This path is an essential guide for those seeking to become active participants in IES and contribute to the development of applied ecopsychology.

Here is a brief introduction to each path within IES. You can access an image where you’ll find the full IES Path for each route, including requirements, benefits, and how to participate in the IES community.

IES Friend

Being an IES Friend is a way to support and connect with the ecopsychology community without needing prior training. Anyone who shares IES’s vision and mission can join as a Friend and access free activities. It’s a gateway for those who wish to explore ecopsychology and be part of the global network.

IES Ally

ES Allies are professionals trained in Ecopsychology in schools outside of IES. This membership allows them to integrate into the network, participate in advanced activities, and receive discounts on conferences and training programs.

Ecotuner IES

Being an Ecotuner is the first step within IES. These are certified professionals in Applied Ecopsychology who facilitate processes of ecosynchronization and connection with nature. As active members, Ecotuners have access to a global support network, ongoing training, and leadership opportunities within the IES community.

IES Charter Candidate

Charter Candidates (IES Representatives) are Ecotuners and professionals in psychology who wish to take a more active role in expanding ecopsychology in their country. Over a two-year process, they participate in strategic activities and receive mentorship to become official IES representatives in their region.
