10° IES Conference – Brazil 2025

For the recognition of our deep connection with the Web of Life and the inseparability of human health from the health of ecosystems.

The 10th International Congress of Ecopsychology is organized by the International Society of Ecopsychology (IES) in collaboration with the Brazilian Institute of Ecopsychology (IBE).

Its objective is to address the Climate Crisis from an ecopsychological perspective, seeking ways to restore relationships with the planet and with ourselves.

Amid multiple global crises, all of which are ramifications of a greater crisis rooted in the degraded relationship between the human species and the Earth, the chosen theme highlights the urgency of restoring a bond of belonging and uniqueness.

Our guiding principle is the recognition of our role in the Web of Life and the transition to an ecocentric culture.

Perspectives

To achieve this, we consider it essential to share knowledge, methodologies, and practices that guide our actions toward restoring the bond of reciprocity with the Earth.

Intentions

It is fundamental that this Congress is not only about Ecopsychology but is also ecopsychological in nature.

We value the plurality of perspectives, knowledge, and practices and recognize Ecopsychology as a transdisciplinary approach.

We aim to establish a meeting point between contemporary knowledge and ancestral ecological wisdom, from those with the rich experience of a life centered on the rhythms of the Earth.

We seek to strengthen ourselves as an ecopsychological community to inspire a vision of the world and society where life is our central value.

Program

The conferences and talks will be led by professionals from the global ecopsychological community, alongside representatives of traditional Brazilian wisdom.

We will also open space for psychologists and ecotuners to register and present their work, sharing their achievements in the field of Ecopsychology.

The topics of the conferences and talks were chosen considering the urgency of transitioning from a society sustained by an economy that ignores its ecological connections to an ecologically-centered society, based on a culture that recognizes interdependent relationships as essential to sustaining life.
